SOMA Masakazu

Born in 1949 in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture. A ceramic artist in Okinawa. In 1971, he moved to Okinawa to study under the late Ikuo Takaesu (contemporary master for crafts and traditional arts) of Tsuboya ware; he became independent in 1975 and was accredited as a traditional artisan in 2002.
